Gus Van Sant's 'Restless' is the Tuesday Night Gala

Cinéfest Sudbury International Film Festival is thrilled to announce that Restless will be presented as the Tuesday Night Gala Presentation at the 23rd edition of the Festival. Restless will screen Tuesday, September 20th at 7:00 p.m. at SilverCity Sudbury. There will be a catered reception following the film at the Quality Inn Hotel, at 390 Elgin St. at 9:00 p.m.

Directed by Oscar nominee Gus Van Sant (Milk, Good Will Hunting), Restless recounts the romance between two teenagers, orphaned, funeral-crashing Enoch (Henry Hopper) and Annabel (Mia Wasikowska). They meet at a funeral and bond over their mutual morbid obsession, which they have for opposite reasons: Enoch lost his mother and father in an automobile accident that, he claims, left him dead for three minutes before he bounced back, while Annabel has brain cancer, which will take her within a few months. Together, they encounter Hiroshi, the ghost of a Japanese kamikaze pilot from WWII. Renowned director Gus Van Sant’s latest effort, after the success of Milk and Paranoid Park, stars Henry Hopper, son of late actor and director Dennis Hopper, and Mia Wasikowska, of Alice in Wonderland and The Kids Are Alright fame.

Restless is distributed in Canada by Mongrel Media. Cinéfest Sudbury’s Tuesday Night Gala Presentation is generously sponsored by Desjardins.
