The 2nd annual Cinema Summit is a four-day presentation, exchange and development series for industry professionals, aspiring filmmakers and cinephiles alike. Taking place within the larger structure of Cinéfest Sudbury International Film Festival, Cinema Summit is devoted to the celebration, promotion and advancement of established and emerging filmmaking talent.
Cinema Summit has been designed to nurture the next generation of Canadian filmmakers. It is an occasion where artists can come together to showcase their works, inspire film students, and to meet colleagues, audiences, distributors, curators, exhibitors and broadcasters. Cinema Summit 2011 will feature moderated discussions, Q&A sessions, mentoring/networking events and First Cuts Screenings.

With that legacy solidly entrenched the three are moving on to new challenges. Join us at the media conference to hear about what is next for this dynamic team as they launch a company in Sudbury and how they will support the creative and cultural industries throughout the North.

Established and emerging filmmakers attending Cinéfest Sudbury are invited to learn about the funding programs of the Northern Ontario Heritage Corporation, and the process of applying.

This programme is presented in partnership with the imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival, and will consist of eight short films, followed by a panel discussion featuring Terril Calder (Director of Canned Meat/Immobilized), who specializes in stop-motion animation and ImagineNATIVE programmer, Michelle Latimer (Director of Choke).
